C-H-I-C-A-G-O

Visiting Chicago was a dream come true for me. Not only did we get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go to the OPRAH show (that post is coming tomorrow) but I have always wanted to see that beautiful skyline. We had so much fun exploring this historic city together.

Besides going to Oprah, our favorite thing we did in Chicago was hands down the Architectural Boat Tour. It was so dang cold and windy but it was a great way to see the city. I highly recommend doing this if you visit.

One day we walked to Navy Pier. Due to the weather it was a ghost town but I can see why this is the place to be to spend those hot summer days.

"Love and marriage, love and marriage.....goes to together like a horse and carriage."
The fountain on the 80's show "Married with Children". Remember that show?

The streets are lined with gorgeous trees and tulips everywhere! It made me happy every time I walked passed them.

The famous Magnificent Mile.
If it was up to me I could have spent the entire trip right here. It is the heart of the city with restaurants and shopping galore! Oh, the shopping. Every store you would want to shop at is on this street. One of my favorite stores to browse through was the American Girl store. I loved looking at each and every doll. I quickly came to the realization that the store is not meant for men. Clint about died when he saw how much these dolls cost. He just doesn't get it. I think every little girl should have one.

The whole trip Clint kept telling me that we needed to see the big silver jelly bean. He wasn't exaggerating! It's the weirdest but coolest sculpture I've ever seen. Isn't that skyline just beautiful?

On Sunday night the Bulls won the first and only game against the Miami Heat. They lit up the Willis Tower (Sear's Tower) in their honor. This picture was taken from our hotel room.

Despite the howling wind, freezing temperatures (don't let the blue sky fool you), and the flight coming home, it was a perfect vacation!

What a fun trip! I'm so glad you got to spend this time together before everything else happened.

Still praying for you guys. I looked for you yesterday as I was getting gas at Costco : )
